Biography

Erik Johnson was born on Staten Island, New York and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He holds degrees from Seattle Bible Insititute, University of Washington, and Regent College (Canada). He has been a contributing writer to Christianity Today, Leadership Journal, Discipleship Journal, Focus on the Family Magazine, and many more.

His first ministry position was Pastoral Intern in 1975 and since then has served Independent, Lutheran Brethren and Mennonite Brethren congregations as Youth Pastor, Interim Pastor and Associate Pastor. Since 1998 he's been in private practice as a marriage and family therapist and conflict mediator specializing in anger management.

On a lighter note, over the years he‘s been a frequently published cartoonist with hundreds of gag cartoons appearing in magazines including Leadership Journal, Christianity Today, Highlights for Children, Saturday Evening Post, and dozens more. Although now retired as an artist, his claim to fame is that as a party caricature artist he drew over 20,000 noses at fairs, bar mitzvahs, graduations, festivals, wedding receptions, birthdays, and corporate events.

He's been married to Vicki since 1977 and together they've enjoyed parenting five awesome kids--Elliot, Olivia (who is married to Brandon Hahnel), Alex, Ian, and Emily (who is married to Jason Ufkes).
